About Beam to Breaker
At Beam to Breaker Home Inspections, our story is a lifetime in the making. Our founder’s passion for homes started at just 12 years old turning into a lifelong career dedicated to the home improvement and remodeling industries. Now, that lifetime of hands-on, dirty-boots experience is poured directly into every single inspection we perform.
We chose the name Beam to Breaker because we truly understand a house from its deepest structural framing to its most complex electrical systems. We don’t just walk through a property with a checklist—we look at it with the trained eye of someone who has spent decades building, repairing, and transforming spaces. We pride ourselves on being genuine, straightforward, and deeply knowledgeable neighbors who are here to give you the honest clarity and confidence you need to make the right decision for your family.
Matt Mahon- Home Inspector/Owner
Hi!, My name is Matt and for as long as I can remember, I have been driven by a need to understand how things work. Long before my professional career began, I was the kid who couldn’t leave a broken object alone—I had an innate passion for troubleshooting, taking things apart, and figuring out the puzzle of how to fix them. That curiosity found its true home at 12 when I installed my first ceiling fan for a neighbor who couldn't figure it out. This passion influenced me to attend a Construction Trades program for two years while in high school, sparking a lifelong career within the home improvement, building, and remodeling industries
Over the next 30+ years, my hands-on work became my greatest classroom. I approached every renovation, structural repair, and framing challenge as an opportunity to master the finer points of residential construction. But for me, the most rewarding part of knowing how a house works has always been sharing that knowledge. I have a genuine passion for learning and, equally, for teaching others. Opening Beam to Breaker Home Inspections allows me to bring these lifelong passions full circle. I don’t just inspect your home to find problems; I walk you through the property to educate you on its systems, empower you with real understanding, and give you the absolute confidence to take your next big step.
